Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Detailed Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting your manuscript to Global Health Synapse, please ensure that you have completed all the following steps. Manuscripts that do not adhere to these guidelines may be returned for revisions before entering the review process.

  1. Manuscript Formatting

    •  The manuscript is written in clear, concise English and follows standard academic writing conventions.
    •  The document is double-spaced, with 1-inch (2.5 cm) margins on all sides.
    •  A standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 10-point) is used throughout the manuscript.
    •  Pages are numbered consecutively, starting with the title page.
  2. Title Page

    •  The title page includes the title of the manuscript, which is concise and informative.
    •  Full names and institutional affiliations of all authors are provided.
    •  Contact information for the corresponding author, including email address and phone number, is included.
    •  Any acknowledgments of funding sources, contributors, or other support are listed.
  3. Abstract and Keywords

    •  The abstract is a single paragraph, not exceeding 250 words, summarizing the objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study.
    •  3-5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript are provided, listed in alphabetical order and separated by commas.
  4. Main Text

    •  The manuscript is organized into the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
    •  The Introduction clearly states the research question or hypothesis.
    •  The Methods section provides detailed information on the study design, participants, interventions, data collection, and analysis methods.
    •  The Results section presents the findings of the study in a clear and logical sequence.
    •  The Discussion section interprets the results in the context of existing research, discussing implications, strengths, and limitations.
    •  The Conclusion summarizes the main findings and their implications for practice, policy, or further research.
  5. References

    •  All references cited in the text are listed at the end of the manuscript.
    •  References follow a consistent citation style (e.g., APA, Vancouver) and are complete and accurate.
  6. Tables and Figures

    •  Tables and figures are included at the end of the manuscript or in separate files.
    •  Each table and figure have a concise, descriptive caption.
    •  Tables and figures are numbered consecutively in the order they are cited in the text.
  7. Ethical Considerations

    •  All listed authors meet the authorship criteria as defined by the ICMJE.
    •  A conflict of interest statement is included, disclosing any financial or personal relationships that could bias the research.
    •  For studies involving human participants or animals, a statement confirming that the research was conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines and that necessary approvals were obtained from relevant ethics committees is included.
    •  If applicable, confirmation that informed consent was obtained from all participants is included.
  8. Data Sharing

    •  A data availability statement describing where the data supporting the findings of the study can be found is included.
    •  Any supplementary material supporting the main findings is submitted as separate files and referenced in the manuscript.
  9. Cover Letter

    •  A cover letter addressed to the editor is included, briefly introducing the study, its significance, and confirming that the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.
