APC Statement
At Global Health Synapse, we are dedicated to advancing open access publishing. This means that all articles published in our journal are freely available to the global research community without any access restriction.
To sustain this model and cover essential publication-related expenses, an Article Processing Charge (APC) is required.
This fee supports the full range of publishing services, which include editorial review, manuscript formatting, typesetting, online hosting, digital archiving, technical infrastructure, and outreach to ensure your work reaches a wide audience.
The APC is given as follows:
Funded Articles: 1599 EURO
Non-Funded Articles: 999 EURO
Important Tax Information:
An additional 22% tax will apply if the payment is made by:
- A company within the EU that does not have a valid VAT number
- A business registered in Estonia
- An individual located within the EU
We value your contribution to open science and thank you for supporting the ongoing accessibility of high-quality academic research.
APC Waiver
- Waiver for Low-Income Countries: Authors affiliated with institutions in countries categorized as low-income economies by the World Bank are eligible for fee waiver upon request.
- Support for Ukrainian Authors: In light of the ongoing conflict, authors based in Ukraine are currently exempt from APC charges.
- Reviewer Discount: As a gesture of gratitude, reviewers who contribute their time and expertise to our peer-review process are entitled to a 15% discount on their APC for future submissions.
- Annual Waiver Limit: Please note that each author may receive an APC waiver only once per calendar year.
We believe these provisions help foster a more inclusive and supportive research environment. If you believe you qualify for a waiver or discount, please reach out during the submission process.
Please Note: All manuscripts submitted on or before May 20, 2025, will be processed under our previous no-APC (Article Processing Charge) policy, and authors will not be required to pay any publication fees.

- Digital preservation through services like CLOCKSS and Portico to ensure long-term accessibility.

- Developing and maintaining the online submission and review system.
- Implementing plagiarism detection software.
- Ensuring website security and usability.

- Promoting published articles to enhance visibility and impact.
- Indexing and abstracting services to ensure inclusion in major databases.

Refund Policy
Global Health Synapse maintains a clear refund policy for APC contributions:

Refund Eligibility:
- Refunds for APC contributions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
- If an error occurs on the part of the journal (e.g., duplicate payment), a full refund will be issued.
